MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Marquette University High School's robotics team is heading to the FIRST Robotics national championship.
According to a news release, MUHS partners with Divine Savior Holy Angels to form FIRST Team 1732 Hilltopper Robotics.
Team 1732 won the 2023 Wisconsin FIRST Robotics Regional Competition in March, and was also awarded the Innovation in Control Award for innovative control components that provide machine functions.
The competition brings together high school students and builds skills in STEM. Teams are tasked with designing and building robots that can complete challenges, such as picking up and moving objects, navigating obstacles and working collaboratively with other teams.
Along with building robots for competition, Team 1732 also engages in community outreach to give back and pass on their passion for engineering to Milwaukee-area youth, including creating accessible toys for Penfield Children’s Center.
