MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A food giveaway is not an unusual sight during the coronavirus pandemic, but one in downtown Milwaukee Friday was a little unusual.
Marcus Hotels & Resorts was handing out food to employees that the company had to layoff because of the Stay at Home orders.
"Like many other businesses, we've had to go through a lot of temporary layoffs, and it's been really hard," said Erin Levzow. "We're in an entertainment business, an experiential business, and while we want everybody to be safe, we cannot wait until this is over and everybody's able to come back."
Marcus has also set up a private Facebook page so its furloughed workers can communicate with each other.
The company says hundreds have already connected through that page.
