Man tried to lure 6-year-old boy into car in Town of Burlington, officials say

RACINE COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Racine County Sheriff's Office is investigating an attempted child enticement incident that happened near Park Street and Lakeshore Drive in the Town of Burlington Sunday, Aug. 16. 

According to the sheriff's office, around 2:22 p.m., a caller reported a vehicle had stopped in front of his residence and called for his 6-year-old son to approach the car. The caller stated the driver told the child to "come here" twice before the child ran into his yard and the driver left. 

The suspect is described as a white male with white hair and a white mustache. He was driving a black car along with an older female with white hair. 

This investigation is ongoing and still active, and The Racine County Sheriff’s Office is requesting anyone with information related to this case or similar incidents contact Investigator James Spranger at (262)636-3175.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind parents and guardians to talk to your children about their safety in public. Remember to teach them not to talk to strangers or accept gifts from strangers, use the buddy system when playing, and always be aware of their surroundings. If they don’t feel comfortable, they should look for a parent, teacher, or police officer.
