Man stabbed attempting to break up bar fight; police searching for suspect

The Mount Pleasant Police Department is investigating after a man was stabbed at a tavern in the 2500 block of Durand Avenue.

Police responded shortly after midnight on Monday. Upon arrival, they located the victim, a 30-year-old Racine man, who was injured after attempting to break up a fight between other patrons.

The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene prior to officer's arrival. 

There does not appear to be a public risk at this time.

Police continue to investigate.
