Man sentenced to 8 years in prison for deadly pedestrian crash near 35th and Lisbon
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee man who pleaded guilty for his role in a crash that killed a 39-year-old woman, learned his fate on Thursday, May 4.
A judge sentenced 28-year-old Charles Jackson to eight years in prison with seven years of extended supervision.
The crash happened May 3, 2022, near 35th and Lisbon. Police say Jackson disregarded a red light and collided with a second vehicle. The second vehicle struck the victim who was standing on the corner.
Jackson, according to a criminal complaint, claimed he was rushing home because he was concerned a family member was going to kill himself, and claimed he believed he had a green light.
An investigation revealed Jackson was traveling 47 mph at the time of the crash with the accelerator depressed 100%.
