Man in critical condition after drug arrest on Milwaukee's north side
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee police say man is in critical condition after a drug arrest on Milwaukee's north side.
According to Milwaukee Police Chief Jeffrey Norman in a media hearing, Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) officers along with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a joint operation patrolling the area of 91st and Silver Spring based on the information about drug dealing.
Chief Norman says that officers spotted a vehicle related to the investigation and followed it to 106th and Silver Spring.
The driver, a 31-year-old man, fled the vehicle on foot and ran into a yard in the area. Authorities say that officers caught up to him and he resisted.

Chief Norman states that at some point during or before the arrest the suspect consumed drugs, causing him to go unconscious. When officers realize he was unconscious, they performed life saving measures and administered Narcan.
The suspect was transported to a local hospital where police say he is in "critical condition."
During the arrest, two MPD officers and one FBI agent were exposed to an "unknown substance" and was to sent to a local hospital for evaluation and released.
