Man faces three felony charges for sending sexual videos to Texas teen

WEST ALLIS - A West Allis man who lost his wife in a deadly crash is now sitting in a jail cell.

Michael Gawlitta, 42, is charged with three counts of causing a child under 18 to view or listen to sexual activity.

Each count carries a $10,000 fine and up to six years in prison.

Gawlitta is accused of sending videos of himself engaging in sexual activity to a 14-year-old girl in Texas.

Milwaukee County Sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at Gawlitta's home and inside, found features and objects matching those videos.

According to the criminal complaint, detectives also located possible nude photos of juveniles on Gawlitta's computer.

During an interview, the complaint states Gawlitta admitted to sending videos of sexual activity to another 16 or 17 year old in Mississippi.

Gawlitta, a father of four, lost his wife Tammy in a car accident in December 2013.

Tammy's brother, Tim Gorecki, tells CBS 58 the family is still grieving her loss and that right now, the focus is on the health and safety of the kids. The children are with family members.

Michael Gawlitta will be back in court April 14 for an indigence hearing.
