According to a criminal complaint, Simone Downer is charged with first degree reckless injury, two counts of recklessly endangering safety and possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to court documents, Newman shot into a car near 5th and Concordia on May 16.
One of the bullets hit the young boy who was in the backseat. The child’s leg was amputated.
Downer is expected in court June 6.
