MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- One of the men involved in a deadly high-speed crash on Milwaukee's north side is bound over for trial.
Twenty-five-year-old Michael Howard appeared in court virtually Monday, Aug. 30, for his preliminary hearing.
He faces second degree reckless homicide charges and driving with a suspended license.
The incident happened back on Aug. 15 near 76th and Silver Spring.Â
Witnesses said it appeared Howard was drag racing, swerving around other cars at high speeds before hitting another car, killing two people inside.
At the hearing, the court commissioner spoke candidly about the severity of the charges.
"Unfortunately, in Milwaukee right now, two of the worst things you can do is kill somebody and reckless drive in these streets," said Hon. Barry Phillips. "And unfortunately, in this case, you're dealing with both."
Howard's arraignment is scheduled for Sept. 16.
