Man arrested in robbing, stabbing of two women on MCTS bus

Update:

Milwaukee Police say they have arrested the suspect wanted in an armed robbery and stabbing that happened on April 20 in the 3400 block of W. Silver Spring Drive and an armed robbery and stabbing that happened on April 21 on a Milwaukee County Transit System bus in the 1100 block of N. 27th Street. 

The suspect, an 18-year-old Milwaukee man, was taken into custody late last night at a home in the 4500 block of N. 27th Street.  

Milwaukee Police will present the case to the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office in the coming days.

Milwaukee County Transit System says the driver did the right thing in this case. 



 \"Their main job is not as law enforcement,\" Milwaukee County Transit System spokesman Brendan Conway said.  \"Their main job is to get police, get security on the scene. In this situation,  they followed their rules and regulations, security was there within just a few minutes and unfortunately the suspect got away but I think police are confident they'll catch him.\"

 The Milwaukee Police Department is asking for the public's help in locating an armed robbery suspect who stabbed two victims in two separate incidents. The first incident happened in the 3400 block of W. Silver Spring Drive at about 8:30 p.m. on April 20. 

The victim, a 21-year-old Milwaukee woman, and the suspect both exited a Milwaukee County Transit System bus when the suspect took out a knife and demanded the victim's belongings. 

The suspect than stabbed the victim and fled northbound on N. 35th Street. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police believe the same suspect was involved in a similar incident just before 8:00 a.m. on April 21 in the 1100 block of N. 27th Street. 

The suspect approached a 14-year-old Milwaukee girl on a bus, demanded her phone, and then stabbed her. A citizen chased the suspect but the suspect was able to get away. 

The citizen was able to get the victim's phone back. 

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as black male, between 15-20 years-old, 5'5” to 5'7” tall, and between 130-140 pounds.

In both incidents he was wearing a distinctive “Buffalo plaid” jacket with a black and white checkerboard pattern. 

In the first incident, he was wearing a blue drawstring backpack. Anyone with information about either incident is asked to call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360.
