WAUKESHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One man is in custody following a domestic disturbance which led to a tactical situation in Waukesha.
Waukesha Police and Fire responded to a home in the 400 block of Wisconsin Avenue around 11 p.m. on Sunday.
The caller reported that there has been a history of domestic violence and that the man was known to be extremely violent, using weapons in the past.
Upon arrival, authorities located a woman with visible injuries exiting the home.
The man refused to exit the residence and officers negotiated with him for several hours to surrender.
As a precaution, nearby homes were evacuated.
With the assistance of the Waukesha Police Department Tactical Unit, OC Spray was deployed into the home. The suspect then exited the home and was taken into custody without incident.
No one else was injured.
The investigation remains ongoing.
