Man arrested after demanding pills and threatening to "shoot clerks" at Walgreens

The Waukesha Police Department is currently investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Walgreens Pharmacy located at 230 Madison Street.

The incident happened at 7:24 p.m. on Monday.

According to police, an employee who works in the pharmacy advised that a man in his 30’s handed him a note demanding Oxycodone pills otherwise he would “shoot clerks.” 

The suspect then showed the employee an object in his waistband which resembled a handgun. The employee handed over a small amount of Oxycodone pills and the suspect fled the area on foot.

Officers flooded the area and began searching for the suspect with the assistance of the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department K-9 Unit.

According to police, the suspect was still in the area and eventually turned himself in without incident. The suspect was safely taken into custody and is cooperating with the investigation.   

The suspect’s name and information are not being released at this time.

He is expected to be transported to the Waukesha County Jail sometime tomorrow and his information will be released once the suspect is charged in court.
