Mail Man Attacked by Suspect on Milwaukee's East Side

A mail man was attacked and robbed by two men on Milwaukee’s East Side on November 17.

Daryl Walters has been charged in federal court with theft of United States mail and assaulting a government officer.

According to the criminal complaint, the mail man was robbed of two packages and he chased and wrestled with the suspects.

Each package cost $107 to mail from Las Vegas to Milwaukee.

According to the criminal complaint, the mail man began screaming “STOP, this is a federal offense; I won’t let you steal the mail!”

The mail man chased one of the suspects into a yard on Warren Avenue where the suspect tried to climb a fence.

According to the criminal complaint, the mail man wrestled with the suspect to stop him from climbing the fence.

At one point the suspect yelled for someone to get the mail man off him and he punched the mail man in the groin area.

Multiple citizens called 911 to help the mail man, and one resident came out of his house and helped pin the suspect to the ground until police arrived.
