Madison fire station unveils first-ever electric fire truck in the nation

MADISON, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The future of fire trucks is making its nationwide debut here in Wisconsin.
The first-ever all electric engine is in use at a Madison fire station. The electric fire engine was made in Wisconsin by Pierce Manufacturing.
The city of Madison is aiming to be 100% renewable, sustainable by 2030.
The truck has been in service at the department since late May. It has been on nearly 200 calls without any issues.
