Soaking rains on Sunday for some with a few more storms possible...
WAUWATOSA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Sunday, March 8 is International Women's Day, and Luther Manor in Wauwatosa is celebrating a little early this year.
Hundreds of women gathered Thursday morning for the "Strong Women Bruncheon."
They honored seven women ranging in age from their 90's to one young woman in her teens.
They all live, work or serve in the Luther Manor community.
President and CEO Stephanie Chedid says strength takes many forms.
"Sometimes it's grit, sometimes it's kindness, sometimes it's a commitment to others. Sometimes it's commitment to self. We saw that in all of our honorees this year," she said.
CBS 58's Natalie Shepherd was there.
The Strong Women Bruncheon also raised awareness and funds for the Luther Manor Foundation.
The Foundation provides long-term financial support for elderly residents.
