BROOKFIELD, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A simple meal can go a long way for those working on the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic.
Lowlands Group is providing 1,000 meals to frontline care workers this week.
The 1,000 "snackuterie" boxes feature a variety of food and are valued at more than $35,000 total.
On Tuesday, Dec. 22, 250 of those meal boxes were packaged and loaded up at Café Hollander in Brookfield to be sent to the Medical College of Wisconsin.
"You know, giving that little bit back, you know they're taking time from their families to do what they do, so it's the least we can do," said General Manager Leigh Wolfgram. "Because, you know, they really deserve it and just a little bit of happiness around the season."
More meal donations are planned at other Lowlands Group-owned restaurants and cafés later this week.
