MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A special reunion at the Humane Animal Welfare Society in Waukesha on Sunday, May 24. A couple from Utah was there to pick up their dog.
The dog, named "Lady," disappeared Monday, May 18, from their home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Lady was found in Waukesha on Friday, May 22, and through her microchip was traced back to Utah.
HAWS called the couple this weekend and they made the 21-hour drive to Waukesha.
"In the middle of a pandemic, we come out and grabbed Lady and we're just really grateful to have her and we're gonna head back to Salt Lake and make sure we have her on a leash all the time," said Katherine Kennedy, who was reunited with her pup.
The couple says they still have no idea how Lady made it all the way to Waukesha in just a few days.
