MILWUAKEE (CBS 58) -- A Milwaukee tradition returned to the streets today, June 1.
Locust Street Festival is all about music and art.
A little history lesson - the first Locust Street Festival happened in 1976 when authorities agreed with the people of River west to not widen Locust St. between Humboldt and Holton.
They've been celebrating ever since.
One woman tells CBS 58 she just moved to Milwaukee from Nepal about two weeks ago.
She tells us she already feels welcomed, despite her first thoughts.
"I thought people would be rude," said Abisha Dhital. "But they are really welcoming so I love the Midwest!"
There was also live music, food, drinks and plenty of vendors for people to enjoy.
