WASHINGTON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal semi vs van crash on Division Rd. at Spring Valley Road in the Town of Jackson earlier Friday, Dec. 12. 

Deputies say a van rear ended a semi. Callers provided updates to dispatch saying that the driver of the van was trapped and the van was on fire.

Responders arrived at the scene to the van fully engulfed in flames.

The driver of the van, a 30-year-old man, died on scene. 

The driver of the semi, a 55-year-old Illinois resident, was transported to a hospital and treated for minor injuries. 

The initial investigation showed that the van was traveling at highway speeds and rear ended the stopped semi which was yielding to traffic prior to turning. 

The crash remains under investigation.
