MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- It was supposed to be a quick in-and-out through a Scrub-A-Dub Car Wash on Sunday but for one Milwaukee woman, it turned into a nightmare.

The young woman didn't want her identity revealed but said that in a matter of seconds, she was thrown to the ground and a man drove away from the Scrub-A-Dub located on 84th Street, in her car.

"I'm scared to go places alone because just the thought that something could happen," the victim said.

On Sunday afternoon, the woman was robbed of her car and sense of security at a car wash. She was parked next to the vacuum when an SUV pulled up next to her.

"I saw maybe four to five heads pull up on my passenger door."

The victim says a tall man in his 20's got out of the car and made eye contact with her as she walked to the change machine.

"Just the way he looked down at my purse and smiled, I was like that doesn't make me comfortable so that's when I went to go close the door."

The victim said that as soon as she tried to close her passenger door, that man took advantage of the moment and jumped into the driver's seat.

"So I just quick opened my passenger door and grabbed my purse and then he hit the gas and the door hit me and knocked me over. I just remember hearing the car really close like screech off."

"My heart kind of jumped to start when I realized they almost ran over her head in the thoughtlessness to steal another person's vehicle," the victim's mom said.

The victim's mom was just happy that her daughter was able to walk away from the incident.

"As soon as I saw her intact, as soon as that moment happened, I was giving gratefulness, thanks to God."

Police say they found the stolen car on Tuesday but they're still looking for the men involved in the carjacking.
