MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- April marks Fair Housing Month, a time to ensure that all individuals across the nation have equal access to housing. The 55th anniversary of the Fair Housing Act is also marked in 2023.
To discuss fair housing as well as March home market trends in the Milwaukee area, we were joined by Angela Walters, Chairperson of the Greater Milwaukee Association of REALTORS Board of Directors on Monday, April 17.
Walters covered the home market trends in March before delving into the background of the Federal Fair Housing Act, which prohibits discrimination in housing based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or disability.
She discussed how housing discrimination is being combated today, including the role that realtors play.
