Lieutenant Retires After 33-Year Career with Milwaukee Fire Department

It was a touching, if noisy ceremony at the downtown firehouse on Wednesday.

Lieutenant Linda Mattrisch, an EMS resource specialist, is retiring from the Milwaukee Fire Department.

She was a part of the department for 33-years.

Before her honor ride into retirement, her colleagues paid tribute to her with among other things, a plaque marking her years of service.

Lt. Mattrisch tells CBS 58 that she's had an "extremely rewarding" career and she offered some advice to younger paramedics.

"Savor every minute, savor every learning experience, learn from the people you work with, learn from the people you meet and savor it all,” said Mattrisch.

Lieutenant Mattrisch says she's looking forward to spending more time with her family.
