Letter Carrier Olympics at Hunger Task Force

The annual Letter Carrier Olympics were held at Hunger Task Force Friday on the eve of the letter carriers' massive food drive.

This is the 23rd for the food drive that's happening across our country. Most of you probably noticed the plastic bags left in your mailbox, in the Milwaukee area they're blue.

You're asked to place at least one non perishable food item in the bag and leave it in your mailbox for pick up on Saturday.

Sherrie Tussler of Hunger Task Force says this food drive comes at a critical time when families who rely on free meals through their children's school will start to struggle in the summer.

\"If everybody gives two cans instead of one, we're going to reach that million mark,\" Tussler told CBS 58 News.

The Letter Carrier Olympics is a wacky obstacle course bringing members of the media, government and letter carriers together on teams to have some fun and remind people to leave something in their mailbox the day before Mother's Day.

\"Our Stories with Michele\" is a regular segment on the CBS 58 News at 4 p.m. which devotes time to showing viewers how folks from all walks of life can come together for a worthy cause.
