Nice warmth to start the weekend with one isolated shower chance
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A program that gets Milwaukee teens to start thinking about their careers is back for another year. Lead2Change held its annual commitment ceremony at Abundant Faith Church of Integrity.
Seventy-eight high school juniors and seniors took the pledge to take part in weekly sessions and workshops.
The program has teens do deep dives into what careers match their personalities, then sets them up with experts and employers in those fields.
Along the way, they learn about what goes into building a career and how to manage money.
"They get to meet their coach. They get to meet their instructor, and they are going to make a commitment to complete the program and the parents are going to make a commitment to support their students throughout the experience," said Dionne Grayson, co-founder of Lead2Change.
CBS 58 will be following the students throughout the next nine months as part of a long-term series.
