Late misses key in Marquette loss at Xavier

Luke Fischer missed a potential go-ahead layup in the final 30 seconds, and Matt Carlino missed a potential game-tying three pointer in the closing moments, as Marquette lost to Xavier 62-58 Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles (10-7, 2-3 Big East) held a nine point lead at the half, but managed just 27 points in the second half while giving up 40 to the Musketeers (12-6, 3-3 Big East). Carlino's 27 points easily led MU, while Duane Wilson added 12.
