Last minute rush for costumes may just save the giant pumpkin store

The mad rush is on for that perfect Halloween costume and it may just wind up saving the giant pumpkin shop at State Fair Park.

The Halloween Express Store was packed Thursday night.

Many shoppers were thinking twice about their outfits with the very cold forecast.

This is a great rebound for the owner who was contemplating moving because all the construction made for a frightful start to the shopping season.

\"The first couple of days it was like a ghost town,\" Jon Majdoch recalled. \"But since then, we've scared up some sales.\"

He expects this kind of business through Saturday since many Halloween parties will extend into the weekend.

There's also a big half off sale on Sunday.

By  the looks of things sales just might bounce back and allow this pumpkin to stay in the local patch.
