Lakeshore Technical College the sole Wisconsin college named a Bellwether Award finalist

CLEVELAND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Lakeshore Technical College has distinguished itself as the only institution in Wisconsin to be named a Top 10 Bellwether Award finalist.

The Bellwether Awards, awarded annually, celebrate outstanding community college programs that have demonstrated exceptional effectiveness. These awards are divided into three categories, each focusing on different aspects of community college operations and impacts.

Lakeshore's team will vie for top honors at the 2024 Community College Futures Assembly in San Antonio, Texas, with experts selecting winners from each of the three categories in Feb. 2024.

Lakeshore Technical College, honored in the Planning, Governance and Finance categories, showcases its progressive strategies in hiring and onboarding, which have significantly improved its operational efficiency.

Dr. Paul Carlsen, President of Lakeshore Technical College, discussed the distinction in the Tuesday, Nov. 21 press release about the distinction. "The success we are seeing makes the time and effort we invest bringing someone on board worthwhile."

The latest distinction marks the fifth time in six years that Lakeshore Technical College has been a Top 10 Bellwether Award finalist.
