Lake Mills Police in Friday Night Standoff with Man in his Car

On Friday, February 26 at 5:15 PM Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputies received information that a male subject was operating a vehicle and heading towards the Lake Mills area. The driver was allegedly under the influence and possible suicidal. Police later received information that the man was possibly armed with a firearm and made threats towards law enforcement if he was stopped.

Lake Mills Police located the vehicle and attempted to stop it. The driver refused and drove to a home on County Road B in Lake Bills. The man parked in the driveway and refused to get out or comply with any police orders.

Sheriff's negotiators were called to the scene and after several hours of negotiating the 44-year-old Lake Mills man was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported.
