Labor Department Gives Tech Grants to Local Organizations

Southeastern Wisconsin Organizations will benefit from three federal grants.

They come from the Labor Department and they're intended to help train people in tech-industry jobs.

Employ Milwaukee Incorporated will get one of the grants, worth $4 million.

Another $4 million grant will go to UMOS, the United Migrant Opportunity Services Organization.

A third grant will go to a Pewaukee based group called the Waukesha-Ozaukee-Washington Workforce Development Board.

A total of $150 million in grant money was announced on Monday by the Labor Department.
