KENOSHA, Wis. (CBS 58) -- The Kenosha Police Department is currently investigating an incident where a 11-year-old was allegedly sexually assaulted.

According to the Kenosha Unified School District, police are investigating an incident where an 11-year-old was walking in the 5400 block of 49th Avenue around 7:30 p.m. on August 29.

When the victim reached the dark parking lot area of Curtis Strange School, police say a suspect allegedly approached her from behind asking her how old she was and telling her she was beautiful. The suspect then allegedly grabbed the victim's buttocks causing her to fall to the ground where she proceeded to kick the suspect and scream for help.

The suspect then walked away.

Parents in the neighborhood are shocked.

“Oh my God…that is so scary," said Alyssa Nunez. "Like my niece and nephew are always riding bikes up and down these streets, so that’s really scary."

Although the alleged sexual assault happened on school property, the Kenosha Unified School District said they don’t know if the young girl is one of their students.

Still, people are on alert.

“They should always be in groups, never let a child be walking alone, even to school. It’s just, you don’t know anymore,” added Phyllis Baker.

The suspect is described as a black male, 18-25 years of age, approximately 5'9. He was last seen wearing a blue jean jacket, blue jeans, blue hat, dark green or black shirt, and a gold necklace.

Anyone with information is asked to call Kenosha Police at 262-656-1234.
