Kenosha man arrested after attempting to strangle woman at Prairie Ridge Senior Center

Police were called to the Prairie Ridge Senior Campus Monday evening, around 6:30 p.m.

A caller reported that a woman was being battered by a man and the man was last seen running into the campus parking lot located at 7900 94th Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers approached the suspect who began running.

Officers commanded the suspect, 33-year-old Brian Palmer of Kenosha, to stop.

Palmer refused, causing the officer to use his Taser.

The Taser was ineffective and Palmer continued to flee on foot towards St. Catherine's Hospital, where police were able to take him into custody.

Investigators located the 40-year-old woman who said she was visiting a relative at the senior campus. She stated that Palmer had confronted her in the elevator and struck her in the head and face and attempted to strangle her.

Palmer was taken into custody and faces charges of burglary, battery, criminal damage to property, disorderly conduct, and two counts of strangulation.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Pleasant Prairie Police Department at 262-694-7353.
