Kenosha basketball coach resigns as police investigate conduct with student

Kenosha police are investigating a former high school teacher and coach because of his conduct with a student. 

Officers were called to Indian Trails High School on February 6 to investigate the conduct of a male staff member while interacting with a student, according to a release from the Kenosha Police Department. 

Officials with Kenosha Unified School District confirm the staff member being investigated was a teacher and basketball coach for the girls' varsity team. Police say he has resigned from the district, effective February 9. 

Investigators have not yet commented on the specific conduct being investigated and have not given details about the student involved.

CBS 58 is not naming the former staff member because he has not been charged. The case remains under investigation.
