Brookfield (CBS 58)--Pampering your pet while we wait to get them back into the groomers might be something well worth doing. Carol Sumbry with the Elmbrook Humane Society says a good time to do a little maintenance on them is after doing some physical activity. She recommends rewarding them with a treat or lickimat as well. She also suggests doing any kind of touch up in spurts, not all at once. Sumbry gives one more recommendation. She stresses using scissors with rounded ends when doing any kind of trimming with your animal.
Sumbry also spoke with me about high anxiety and your animals once you go back to work full time. She says it'll take a while for your furry friend to get used to you not being there all the time. So, she suggests separating yourself from your animal at times during the day. Crating or finding a "safe space" for them to stay during could be considered good options. Also, go on walks by yourself during the day just to give both of you some alone time.
