Blodgett's body was found by her mother as she was returning from work on July 15, 2013. Police say Jessie Blodgett attended a cast party after a Fiddler on the Roof performance in Hartford. She died within 12 hours of that party.

Detectives found strangulation marks on Blodgett's neck, but couldn't find anything in her home or near her body that may have been used for it.

Blodgett's director, Jerry Becker tells CBS 58 News, \"We are very gratified that the work of law enforcement has resulted in an arrest.\"

Police arrested Bartelt July 29, 2013, in connection with the Blodgett murder.

Bartelt has another case pending against him in regards to an attack on a woman as she walked her dog, three days prior to the Blodgett murder.

In regards to the Blodgett murder, Bartelt is charged with First Degree Intentional Homicide, First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, and False Imprisonment.
