Johnsonville Recalls Sausage Patties after Metal Complaints
Wisconsin-based Johnsonville is recalling roughly 89,000 pounds of Johnsonville pork sausage patties after officials say consumers complained of finding small pieces of metal.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the products from Kenosha Beef International in Kenosha, WI are being recalled because they “may be contaminated with extraneous materials.”
The recall includes Johnsonville Grillers Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Flavor with both the “Best Flavor By” date of 12-29-15 and the establishment number EST425B. This recall does not affect the 4-count ¼ lb. fresh Cheddar Cheese & Bacon Grillers.
The recalled products were sold in Wisconsin and 10 other states.
The company said “a handful” of incidents have been reported, but they haven’t received any reports of oral injuries, adverse reactions or illness. The source of the issue isn’t known.
The Department of Agriculture says consumers should throw away the patties or return them.
