Jogger flighted to hospital following hit and run accident, driver arrested

YORKVILLE, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 34-year-old man was arrested after hitting a jogger with his car and failing to stop on Friday, Oct. 8. 

Police were dispatched to the area of 20,000 block of County Line Road in the Village of Yorkville for a hit and run accident around 6:30 p.m. Deputies found the pedestrian, a 36-year-old Kenosha County woman, near the shoulder of the roadway being cared for by a passing motorist. The woman was out jogging when she was hit.

The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported by Flight for Life to a hospital in Wauwatosa.

Deputies located car parts that were left at the scene from the offending car and were able to identify the vehicle. police say while checking the area, they found a matching vehicle with passenger side damage at a home in Dover.

Josh T. Hanson, 34 of Racine County, admitted hitting the pedestrian and was arrested. He is being held at the Racine County Jail on the following charges, according to police:

  • Hit and run accident - causing great bodily harm failing to render aid, Felony
  • Failure to report an accident
  • Driving too fast for conditions
