MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Hundreds of people received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine Thursday, March 25, at the Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Whitefish Bay.
The clinic was relaunched after a successful run earlier this month.
They only vaccinated those who needed their first shot, and automatically registered patients for their second doses next month.
"What the pandemic did was it forced us to learn how to build community beyond our buildings, in the virtual environment," said Mark Shapiro, president and CEO of Harry & Rose Samson Family JCC. "The vaccine begins to bring us back home to the ideas of bringing community together in spaces and places."
The JCC says in total, they vaccinated over 350 eligible community members Thursday.
