Jefferson Co. officials: 1 dead in single-vehicle crash in Town of Farmington

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Jefferson County on Thursday, Aug. 20. 

It happened just after 1 p.m. on County Highway D, just north of Depot Road, in the Town of Farmington. 

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, an investigation shows the vehicle was traveling southbound on County Highway D when it left the roadway and struck an embankment on the west side shoulder. The vehicle rolled and came to rest on its side. 

The driver was transported to a local hospital where they were pronounced dead. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. 

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Jefferson EMS, Helenville, Sullivan, and Rome Fire Departments.
