Jackson man arrested for OWI after returning to accident scene
WEST BEND, Wis. (CBS 58) -- A 47-year-old West Bend resident called the police to report that she was awakened by the sound of a loud crash in the parking lot of her apartment complex.
It happened in the 2100 block of West Washington Street, around 2:30 a.m. Monday morning.
When the woman went to investigate, she found her vehicle had been struck and damaged by another vehicle that left the scene of the crash.
An officer was on the scene investigating when the offending vehicle and driver returned to the parking lot.
The investigating officer made contact with the driver and observed signs that he was intoxicated.
The 36-year-old Jackson man failed the standardized field sobriety tests, blew a .185 and was arrested for OWI and Hit & Run.
As the officer was taking the man the man into custody, he started screaming and causing a disturbance.
The man was additionally charged with Disorderly Conduct for the disturbance he caused during his arrest.
