Isolated strong to severe storms possible for Thursday

Heat and humidity will return on Thursday as highs climb back into the 80s.  A cold front will arrive out of the northwest to provide the focus for showers and storms and even some severe weather toward the evening.

The timing for the storms will be from 4 pm and 7 pm.  This will allow for maximum daytime heating.  There's enough shear in the atmosphere for some rotating storms ahead of the front.

The biggest threats will be damaging winds and hail; however, if storms can get going ahead of the front, an isolated tornadic storm can't be ruled out.

Once the storms clear, cooler and drier air will arrive for Friday.
