Irpin, Milwaukee's sister city in Ukraine, hit hard by Russian invasion

MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Milwaukee and Irpin, Ukraine signed a sister city agreement in 2018 to foster friendship and collaboration. 

Irpin is located less than 20 miles from the city of Kyiv in Ukraine. Kyiv has been hit with rockets over the last week during Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and Irpin has seen much of the same devastation. 

Illia Ponomarenko is a reporter for the Kyiv Independent. Ponomarenko posted a video of a bridge in Irpin completely leveled and homes destroyed.
