Intruder Found at High School in Manitowoc

(WFRV) Lincoln High School in Manitowoc was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after police say an intruder was found in the building. 

At 6:45 AM, a Lincoln High School student found an unauthorized man inside the building. 

The school district said that when a custodial staff member approached him, the man was uncooperative and combative. He was then detained by staff until police arrived. 

The school was placed on lockdown so that police could check the rest of the school.

The district said that some students and staff members who were not in the building were required to wait outside until the auditorium and cafeteria were cleared as safe locations.

At 8:05 a.m., police determined the building safe and the lockdown was lifted. Students and staff members were released to class and the schedule continued as normal.

Police arrested the 58-year-old Manitowoc man was arrested. They say that the man was under the influence when they found him in the school.
