Father of 4 shot and killed in alley near 36th and Hadley
Two individuals asleep in a reported stolen car resulted in a tactical situation late Tuesday night when witnesses saw guns in their possession.
It all began around 11 PM when the MPD received a report of two unidentified men sleeping in a late model white Mercedes parked in a Walgreens parking lot at N 51st Street and W Capitol Drive.
Police determined the car had been stolen and when they approached the vehicle, Police observed a handgun in the suspect’s possession.
SWAT was called and just before 1 AM officers moved in on the car to make an arrest. One of the suspects surrendered while the other attempted run away, but was caught by officers just a short distance away.
Police then recovered a second handgun from inside the vehicle. No shots were fired and no one was injured during the standoff. The two individuals are now in the custody of the police.
As of 4 p.m. no charges had been filed.
