Illinois Man Dies in Kenosha County after Pickup Rolls into Pond

On Friday evening, April 22, at approximately 6:05 PPM, Kenosha County Deputies responded to a single vehicle, single occupant crash in the 12400 block of County Highway W (Fox River Road) in Kenosha County, according to a release from Kenosha Sheriff's Department.

Arthur M. Kraft, a 50-year-old from Spring Grove, IL, was identified as the driver and sole occupant of a 2010 Ford F-250 truck that he used for his business, KMI Building Services out of River Grove, IL.

Kraft had been traveling south on Fox River Road and failed to navigate the curve in the road causing him to go into a nearby pond. After rolling over, the truck came to rest upside down in the pond.

Witnesses worked to extricate Kraft who was apparently unresponsive. Several people including arriving deputies performed CPR until area rescue units arrived to take over.

Kraft was taken to St. Catherine’s Hospital by Silver Lake Rescue where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. 

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
