KENOSHA COUNTY, Wis. (CBS 58) -- Racine County officials say a man accused of firing a gun into his girlfriend's home in the Town of Trevor Sunday night was arrested Tuesday, following a chase.
Officials have been looking for 29-year-old Jake Wenzel of Illinois since Sunday. Kenosha County officials said Wenzel was wanted on several charges, including attempted homicide and possession of a firearm by a felon.
According to the sheriff's office, Kenosha County deputies believed Wenzel was located at a hotel in Union Grove. Those deputies, along with Racine deputies, a SWAT team and other units, responded to the location Tuesday.
Law enforcement located Wenzel after stopping a car associated with him that was seen leaving the hotel.
The sheriff's office says the stop ultimately led to a pursuit, reaching speeds over 90 mph. They say Wenzel eventually ditched his car when a front tire began to shred, and he ran into a field. Wenzel was taken into custody after deputies released two K-9s who apprehended him.
