LAKE GENEVA, Wis (CBS 58) – You may have heard the phrase, “Children say the darndest things!” For one grandchild of a Wisconsin woman, what she had to say turned into a pretty good idea for a children’s book.
10-year-old Brooklyn Freytag of El Paso and her grandmother Sloan Sullivan of Lake Geneva are sometimes separated by hundreds of miles. However, they love spending time together.
One day when it was time for Freytag to say goodbye to her grandparents, she made a profound statement that proved their bond will always be strong, no matter the circumstances that separate them.
On CBS 58 Sunday Morning, Kathryn Merck introduced the co-authors and their concept for a book that shows their love is not bound by distance.
"The Blueberries of Life: A Book about Grandparents" is now available on Amazon.
