Hometown window washer recalls Uecker signing baseball bat
MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- A mother is still searching for answers eight years after her son was killed on Milwaukee's west side.
"I would do anything to have him here back with us," said Shannon Allen, the mother of DeAndre Allen. "The tears are constantly rolling every day, at some point I cry just thinking about him, missing him."
Allen's son, DeAndre Allen was 27 years old when he was shot and killed the day after Christmas in 2016, near 39th and West Michigan.
"The pain they said eventually gets better and it doesn't," said Allen. "It gets worse year by year."
Every year Allen returns to the scene of the crime holding a vigil for the father of six.
"They are getting older, and they are asking more questions," said Allen. "I do this every year to try and get closure, so I am able to tell them and answer their questions."
Releasing balloons to remember the man she says was always the life of the party.
"Give us closure, oh Father God, give us justice," said Allen. "We've been looking for eight years, oh Father God."
Praying for justice for her son and closure for her family.
"I still don't have justice, but I do hold onto my faith, and I pray that one day justice will prevail."
