MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- Hunger Task Force and Johnson Controls are teaming up for the 20th year to kick off the annual Food for Families campaign, which runs through Dec. 31.
Matt King, CEO of Hunger Task Force, joined us Tuesday, Nov. 4 to discuss the drive and community support for people struggling during the ongoing government shutdown.
Food for Families aims to generate food and funds to provide healthy meals to children, families and seniors facing hunger in Milwaukee, according to Hunger Task Force.
The organization delivers food to a network of food pantries, meal sites, homeless shelters and low-income senior centers across Milwaukee County. Food pantries within the Hunger Task Force network are reportedly experiencing a 35% increase in visits compared to last year.
King also discussed how the Food for Families campaign can help support people who are struggling due to the ongoing government shutdown.
