MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) -- The Hunger Task Force is teaming up with Johnson Controls to kick off the 20th annual Food for Families program.
It's a food drive aiming to provide healthy meals for kids, families, and seniors during the upcoming holiday season.
Milwaukee leaders and Hunger Task Force met in West Milwaukee Tuesday, Sept. 30, to celebrate the launch and discuss how the community benefits from the program.
"The holiday season is an opportunity for people to be at the dinner table, build connection, fellowship with one another, and I think that right now, we need that more than ever," said Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. "Not just here in Milwaukee, but across our entire country."
The Food for Families Drive will officially start Wednesday, Oct. 1, and go through the end of the year.
