MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) – Hundreds of people jumped into Lake Michigan on Monday as part of an annual event celebrating the New Year.
“I’m 36-years-old and I’ve never done it,” Shannon Kebir said. “Come out and get warm and brag about it for the rest of our lives.”
The event isn’t put on by one organization but it’s a gathering that has grown over the years.
“Everybody just groups together down here,” Dave Kirkpatrick said. “It’s a tradition and has been going on for a long time,”
Milwaukee’s rescue dive team was at the event to help anyone in need. Authorities tell CBS 58 no one was hurt or had to be transferred to the hospital.
